Santa Charity

Walk of the Santas weekend is an event that celebrates our community. It was created not only to enjoy Santa and the holiday spirit but also to showcase the great restaurants, lodging, shops and community we call home. As a result, a lot of spirit, volunteers and sponsors came together to make it happen.

In previous years, we have given to two worth charities; Deerfield Valley Community Cares Fuel Assistance Fund and the Holiday Giving Tree. This year, it's up to you. You get to choose which charity or nonprofit you would like your money* to go to. The only requirement is that they are a registered nonprofit.

80% of your donation will be sent to the charity. 20% will go to our organization, Celebrate the Valley, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Fund will be put towards funding the event.

If you're not sure who you'd like to give to, we have worked with many local charities over the past 4 years and encourage you to donate to these worthy causes.

Deerfield Valley Community Cares Fuel Assistance Fund
2008 beneficiary

The Deerfield Valley Community Cares fund is a local fuel assistance fund formed to help working families and seniors with their heating bills during the colder months. They are entering their fifth winter, and each year the need seems to grow.

Last year they spent just under $40,000.00 and helped 57 families. This year, with increased fuel prices and a slower economy, they expect more people will need help. They raise funds year- round with a number of different projects, but feel that, as in two of their past four years, they will run out of money before the needs are met. They will appreciate any help that you can give. Should you want to make a direct contribution, it can be mailed to: DVCC P. O. Box # 5 Wilmington, Vermont 05363 Holiday Giving Tree

The Holiday Giving Tree
2007 recipient
The Holiday Giving Tree is a local organization that gives gifts to families in need in the holiday season. This year 65 families from the Deerfield Valley will be receiving food cards, gifts and clothing from the Holiday Giving Tree.

Celebrate the Valley is proud to be donating a portion of the proceeds from the Walk of the Santas event to this organization. Your participation will help provide assistance to 65 families in need this year. Please visit the Holiday Giving Tree at Memorial Hall in Wilmington Saturday afternoon if you wish to help out more.
